Los Angeles singer/composer and instrumenalist Kadhja (sounds like Kad-ya) Bonet has been making a name for herself online since late last year. Over the course of several original singles, the odd cover, and some genre-busting collaborations, she's located herself within a soundworld equal parts pastoral folk, cosmic soul, mystical jazz and future beats.

After setting up cleanly, she's taking things to the next level with the release of her debut EP The Visitor. Co-produced by Rhye bassist/guitarist Itai Shapira, it's a captivating and nuanced offering from a genuine new talent. As the songs clearly display, Kadhja and her collaborators have an intuitive understanding of how to reframe classic seventies songwriting and vocal performance within a forward leaning 21st century aesthetic. The results are blindsiding. You can stream/purchase The Visitor now via her bandcamp.
