With the recording sessions for their debut album done, Kate Boy are back with their first release in over a year and a whomper it is too. 'Self Control' follows in the footsteps of the Scandi-Aussie threesome's previous three releases, treading the push and pull of electro-pop and the hit of a bracing bassline. The band may have misplaced their fourth member since last single, 'The Way We Are', but this doesn't seem to have done their magic any harm. Hearing the trio play 'Self Control' live at their Lexington show last week, it was abundantly clear that this track is going to go down a storm and it certainly sits comfortably alongside the rest of their repertoire, both old and new.

The single is Kate Boy's first outing for Fiction, with whom they've recently inked a recording contract, and pop clairvoyants are predicting a January release for its parent album. You'll be humming this ad nauseam before the day is out.
