It's gone without saying, but we might as well resign to the fact that the latter portion of 2014 is going to belong to Kendrick Lamar.

The continually hyped mega-star set the industry on its heads with the oft-celebrated good kid, m.A.A.d city two years back, and more-than patient fans have been waiting for a proper follow-up since. Those dreams were met yesterday with 'i', the first taste of Lamar's hyped sophomore LP. The Isley Brothers' sampled effort was met with a great deal of promise, only raising what is expected to be a mountain of promotion leading up to the new album.

Yesterday, the Compton native stopped by his native city's Power 106's show Big Boy's Neighborhood for an interview and lengthy freestyle display - both of which can be seen below. For the freestyle, which lasts an unbelievable six minutes, station hosts used a variety of samples, including Jay Z's 'Who You Wit'.

During the interview, Big Boy promptly asks about the album's mysterious release date, which Lamar unfortunately doesn't know of (or chooses to withhold). The two have a previous history together with Big Boy having ghost writing credits for the rapper, which Lamar readily admits to without hesitation. Check it out, along with discussion of his supreme verse on Big Sean's 'Control' and many other topics below.

The rapper was also interviewed by Carson Daly on 97.1 AMP Radio - which makes for pretty good listening if you wanna find out about his new album ("I'm hoping to push it out before 2015"). Check it out below.
