Here's the endearingly named Irish band little xs for eyes with 'Logical Love' – it's a mini-anthem calling for sensible love, reacting against the more "impossible, irresponsible" stuff. Set to a shuffling gallop of a beat, it's full of uplifting dynamics with crashing cymbals and sweeping jangling guitars, airy synths inflecting it all with a sense of retro-futuristic innocence and fantasy (fitting, because the idea of logical love is a fantastical concept anyway); imagine a post-breakup montage as you listen.

little xs for eyes answered a few questions about 'Logical Love' for us, too.

What's the inspiration/idea behind the track?
That gorgeous turmoil that comes with trying to resist the excitement and anticipation of a pending but inevitably useless romance.

Is there any particular time or place in the universe where it'd sound best?
A suburban bedroom, Friday night, barefoot on a shag-pile carpet with hairbrush in hand, early summer air whispers through the open window. The night is young.

How do you hope or imagine people will react to it?
By dragging their best friend onto a dance floor and singing this song in their face.
...or just by turning up the volume and opening the sunroof.
