Mitski is a New Yorker making songs that send shivers down your spine, and 'Goodbye, My Danish Sweetheart' is the opening track from her recently self-released sophomore album Retired From Sad, New Career in Business - following her 2012 debut with orchestral pop and poetic piano riffs that let her "big feelings" (as she was once told to have) flourish.

A schizophrenic guitar riff opens the track, and is soon joined by Mitski's haunting voice; frantic and desperate, reminding us of a young Tori Amos that carries the entire world in her throat. Ryan Galloway directed the music video, a minimalistic adventure that is part of a larger project (Mitski said she is releasing a video for every album track).
