After announcing a new album called Freedom – their first in seventeen years (!) – back in April, Swedish band Refused have just shared a new track from the forthcoming release.

It's called 'Dawkins Christ' – has anybody escaped our modern desensitisation enough to actually find the title offensive or edgy? Shrug. But title aside, it begins as a brooding number full of threatening potential energy, launches into a scratchy riff punctuated with punchy drum hits, then goes all out in a squall of squiffy guitars, spluttering-screamed vocals and ten-ton bass.

Previously we've heard 'Elektra' and, more recently, 'Françafrique'.

Freedom is out 29th June. Listen to 'Dawkins Christ' below, via BBC Radio 1.
