"I saw it as an opportunity to do try to do something unusual with the format and the content of the program," says PJ Harvey at the start of her three-hour Today show on BBC Radio 4.

The broadcast features the likes of Julian Assange, Ralph Fiennes, John Pilger, Dr. Rowan Williams and Shaker Aamer (former Guantanamo Bay detainee). PJ Harvey accepted the guest editor position under the condition that the BBC didn't edit her guests without their permission: "I wanted to let them be heard in a manner of their choosing."
