Question for the day: If Shaggy was your dad, would you admit it? This is a question that's been plaguing Robb Bank$ albeit short career. Because, as his music rides on this dark, murky wave, courtesy of production from the likes of Spaceghostpurrp, Shaggy isn't exactly the rapper you'd appeal to for street cred. Not in the same way as if your dad was Dr. Dre or Snoop Dogg (heck even Ice Cube despite those god awful movies he's been in post-Friday)

Still, the cover of Bank$ new mixtape The City is the confirmation that all of you trawling WorldStarHipHop for incriminating evidence have been waiting. Proudly emblazoned on the centre of the cover is a photo Shaggy, perhaps pre-'It Wasn't Me', with Bank$ in the corner looking all innocent and butter-wouldn't-melt.

His music couldn't be further from sweet. On this tape, he's gutter and dark and this sound is complimented by his careless nonchalant drawl. Interestingly though, despite its adult themes, it still sounds like an album done by an young'un. It's pretty visceral and affecting, not contrived or thought out.
