Previously a backing singer for the likes of Bat For Lashes and Florence & The Machine, London-based singer/songwriter Amy Syed has earned her chops. But now it's time for her to step out from behind the shadows and into her own light, starting with a cover of 'You Go To My Head' - a song originally released back in 1938, composed by J. Fred Coots, written by Haven Gillespie and made famous by Billie Holiday. Today, the song is considered a Jazz standard and has been recorded by numerous artists.

Syed's take on the record is produced by Ali Thynne and brings in delicate synths, electronic beats and a thumping drum pattern for a heart-warming yet sensational update. Following support slots with Lawrence Rothman, Jenny Lee and Little Dragon, Syed is expected to announce London dates in the coming months. In the meantime, enjoy her take on this Jazz classic.
