Creative genius Dev Hynes crafts some pretty stellar tunes under his moniker Blood Orange, but when he's not busy with that, he's writing hits for the likes of Sky Ferreira, Solange, and a slew of others. Today, he's shared two demos of tracks he wrote for Britney Spears and a demo of what would become Ferreira's hit song 'Everything Is Embarrassing' (via Pigeons and Planes).

Both demos lean more towards the emotional and heartfelt side of her catalogue. They're the ill-fated demos that Hynes spoke to The Guardian about earlier in the year, where he hinted at there being a bit of a beef between himself and Spears' team. They ended up working with Will.i.Am on tracks instead of using what Hynes had created, and he explained “They’d always come back with why they didn’t like it and it wouldn’t make any sense. I’d almost prefer them to say: ‘We’re scared we’re not going to make any money so we’re just going to use'” He continued to give some pretty fantastic insight into how he feels the whole process works as well, saying “It’s funny – the people in charge of a lot of these artists … I don’t want to say they’re not real people, but it’s not a fan sensibility. I feel like that’s what makes the best music, when people are a fan of the person they’re working with.” Listen below.
