A sophomore album is always a tricky number for any band, especially when the first was received with mostly positive acclaim. That's the case with Bleached, the Los Angeles-based trio who in 2013 put out one of my favourite albums of the year, Ride Your Heart.

Welcome The Worms, due out April 1st on Dead Oceans, sees Bleached moving slightly away from their mostly pure garage sound and towards a more '90s-like vibe. Less careless and more serious, the album seems to portray an evolution of sorts for the band as they refine their own style and start exploring it further.
