Portland post-punks Lithics have their debut album Mating Surfaces coming out tomorrow on Kill Rock Stars. They're gearing up for it by letting fans get to know them a bit better through the video for latest single 'Glass Of Water', by showing off one of their other main pastimes: skateboarding!

Lithics introduce the clip, saying: "When we're not toiling away on angular rock music in the dark confines of our practice space, Lithics likes to get out there and SKATEBOARD. You don't believe it? Well here's the proof. Spend the next minute and twenty three seconds watching us tear up the streets of Portland to the frantic sound of "Glass of Water", definitely the most skate video worthy song on our new Kill Rock Stars album Mating Surfaces."

However, perhaps some of you keen eyed amongst you will notice that the faces in the picture above do not match those skating in the video below...

In fact the skaters in the video are members of other Portland bands: Matt, Jon, and Vince from the band Honey Bucket and Kyle from the band Mope Groove.

Following on from tours with Shopping and Stephen Malkmus in America, Lithics will be bringing their effervescent live show to Europe later in the year. Keep your eyes here for more info on that - and definitely check out Mating Surfaces on its release tomorrow.
