So-and-so is releasing a new five-track EP in a few months, your problematic fave dropped a pretty risque new video and that washed up band that no one has even thought of for a good decade now, has decided to reunite and head out on a world tour. These are the things I need to post at a fervent pace, to not only keep up with the over-saturated blogosphere, but to harness the steady stream of emails that will inevitably continue their high-pressured pursuit into my inbox all hours of the day for the remainder of the week, (and probably on the weekend too, depending on the publicist.)

So to combat the rat-race, we're offering a content compromise in the form of our new daily column, Live From The Gutter - an afternoon recap of the day's press releases and the contents of my 405 email.

Kate Nash released new track and video titled 'My Little Alien'

Artist, actress and activist, Kate Nash is back with a brand new track and the official video to accompany it. 'My Little Alien' was shot in the Californian desert alongside Kate's pet dog, Stella. The song is a dedication to her "fur-baby" as well as a reminded that you should adopt new pets rather than supporting the evil puppy-mill cycle by buying in pet stores. "My Little Alien" was written after a trip to Rachel, Nevada, where I saw a UFO for the first time," she says. "I took my rescue pup on the trip and I realized she is my best friend and although I have never met an alien she is like my little alien in a way. When I rescued her from a man in a coffee shop who wanted 20 bucks to get off drugs, she saved me at a time when I needed it most. Sometimes it feels like we're both from another planet. This song is about loving the strange."

Matt Maltese shares 'Vacant In The 21st Century' video

Matt Maltese has unveiled a striking video for his Hugo White (The Maccabees) produced new single, ‘Vacant In The 21st Century’. "We aimed to depict some byproducts of modern day society - the disillusioned youth getting drunk as the world melts away, the self-obsessed twins jerking off to their phones, the dysfunctional couple whose everyday tasks drive them to the insanity and beyond. All together inside one divided, decomposing, politically correct country," he says.
