So-and-so is releasing a new five-track EP in a few months, your problematic fave dropped a pretty risque new video and that washed up band that no one has even thought of for a good decade now, has decided to reunite and head out on a world tour. These are the things I need to post at a fervent pace, to not only keep up with the over-saturated blogosphere, but to harness the steady stream of emails that will inevitably continue their high-pressured pursuit into my inbox all hours of the day for the remainder of the week, (and probably on the weekend too, depending on the publicist.)

So to combat the rat-race, we're offering a content compromise in the form of our new daily column, Live From The Gutter - an afternoon recap of the day's press releases and the contents of my 405 email.

Zyna Hel shares dramatic visuals for new single 'Catacombs'

Zayna Hel describes her latest visuals best: "'Catacombs' is about the sometimes complicated relationships between mothers and daughters, and the ways in which we inherit patterns from our parents and often repeat their mistakes, or their behaviour unconsciously. It’s in part inspired by Persephone’s descent into Hades and her mother Demeter’s frantic search for her. I’ve always been fascinated by this myth, and I really relate to Persephone and her journeys in and out of the Underworld. Ultimately in the song there is a release from this damaging symbiotic relationship through the practice of self-awareness and self-creation," she says.

Apothek reveal new single 'Roaring'

Norwegian electronic duo, Apothek have shared a brand new synth-driven single 'Roaring', straight from their self-titled debut album, which is out now via Propeller Recordings. The single follows the news of their forthcoming headline London show at The Pickle Factory on October 25.

Maggie Rogers releases the video for her debut single 'Alaska'

Maryland-based Maggie Rogers will brighten your day with the new video for her debut single 'Alaska.' While the 22-year-old singer has teased that she will be releasing more music within the next coming weeks, she's given us something stunning for both the eyes and ears.

Varvara premiere new single 'Human Being'

Ahead of the release of their third album Death Defying Tricks, Varvara have released their new single 'Human Being'. The forthcoming album was mixed by one of Sweden's best known sons of sonic debauchery and excitement, Pelle Gunnerfeldt (The Hives, Refused, Fireside) and his mixes are said to bring Varvara's innate sense of melody and energy into sharp focus.
