So-and-so is releasing a new five-track EP in a few months, your problematic fave dropped a pretty risque new video and that washed up band that no one has even thought of for a good decade now, has decided to reunite and head out on a world tour. These are the things I need to post at a fervent pace, to not only keep up with the over-saturated blogosphere, but to harness the steady stream of emails that will inevitably continue their high-pressured pursuit into my inbox all hours of the day for the remainder of the week, (and probably on the weekend too, depending on the publicist.)

So to combat the rat-race, we're offering a content compromise in the form of our new daily column, Live From The Gutter - an afternoon recap of the day's press releases and the contents of my 405 email.

Anik Khan's new single 'Cleopatra' is incredibly contagious

Anik Khan is a vocal pharaoh and a thematic king within the concept of his latest single 'Cleopatra' from his forthcoming EP. Hip-hop and Bengali are balanced and fused with the help of producer great Melo-X, who also helped create Beyonce's Sorry. Listen below.

The Raveonettes share new song 'This is Where It Ends'

It's the top of the month which means many things: your rent is due, summer is officially over and The Raveonettes have released their Rave Sound of the Month. This month's track comes in the form of firey new single 'This is Where It Ends' - their ninth Rave Sound offering. "Sometimes things can take an unexpected nasty turn and then you gotta deal with it. You either learn from it or you don’t, such is life. This is what this song is about," Sune Rose Wagner said of the song.

Mullally releases the aptly titled 'Wonderful'

Just because it's fall and frigid doesn't mean that the music has to reflect that. We can thank Mullally for the sunny vibes with the release of new song 'Wonderful,' which acts as his third official song. "Wonderful is essentially a song about realising how great someone is. Sometimes, you can coast into a friendship or a relationship without giving any proper consideration to how cool the other person is. I feel like often we focus too much on how we are perceived ourselves, and this can make us forget to appreciate how awesome the other person is," he says. Listen below.

Drugdealer and Ariel Punk team up for 'Easy To Forget' video

Drugdealer, aka Michael Collins, released the debut album The End of Comedy last month and now, he's sharing a video for Ariel Pink collaboration 'Easy To Forget' - which definitely isn't that. "We met Christiana Von Neissen (the actor in the video) this way - she was working at a bar. Immediately, she engrosses people in fabulous wandering storytelling, and sort of embodies a spirit of LA that I've come to love," Drugdealer said. "I like videos that are more about setting a stage than coming up with tangential narrative to explain music; basically portraiture. We worked with her; a tour van, then we dressed and filmed two other people (Shags and Ben) who worked heavily on the album."
