So-and-so is releasing a new five-track EP in a few months, your problematic fave dropped a pretty risque new video and that washed up band that no one has even thought of for a good decade now, has decided to reunite and head out on a world tour. These are the things I need to post at a fervent pace, to not only keep up with the over-saturated blogosphere, but to harness the steady stream of emails that will inevitably continue their high-pressured pursuit into my inbox all hours of the day for the remainder of the week, (and probably on the weekend too, depending on the publicist.)

So to combat the rat-race, we're offering a content compromise in the form of our new daily column, Live From The Gutter - an afternoon recap of the day's press releases and the contents of my 405 email.

ECHOS deliver pure 'Gold' with new single

Portland-based electronic duo ECHOS have delivered their second single from their self-titled debut EP, via Seeking Blue Records, which is out on the October 3. Here's what they have to say about the making of the track: "I remember writing the first draft of this nearly three years ago. Sitting at my desk feeling so out of place and confused and misunderstood (oh to be twenty and brooding) It was a gray October day, I was sitting on my friends bed looking through her art journal when her phone rang. A familiar voice was on the line so I was silently waving my arms around mouthing "Tell her hello for me!" But hearing the muffled sounds of "Ew Lexi, tell her I don't say hello" through a telephone line sitting across from my wide eyed friend as she heard this response sort of stung a bit. I gathered my things and went home. It tore me up inside to know someone could believe I had said these horrible things about them. So I reached out and we cleared things up and all is well in the world but my inner songwriter couldn't let go of it so I began writing. I was sitting at my desk staring at this blank book and all I could think about is how "Nobody knows who I am" if they would believe that I would say such a terrible thing about them. "I have the best of intentions...I don't fucking get it" And soon my hands began to scribble down these emotions faster than I could articulate them through my mouth."

Baby In Vain share cinematic video for 'The Urge'

Young Copenhagen trio Baby In Vain have shared new visuals for their new song 'The Urge,' as they take a hazy trip around a Danish quarry in a hearse. The song is taken from the band's debut EP For The Kids, while the video was directed by Palle Demant. "We talked about how to get the gear down to the limestone quarry in a cheap way - and I suggested renting an old hearse, because it’s dirt cheap, but then that idea started evolving. I remembered a cool photo that a Danish band Baby Woodrose did in front of a hearse - and then it took off from there. It then became a Russ Meyer inspired deathly desert trip. Some of the shots are also inspired by the first scenes in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," Paul said.
