Helping the historic old port to become something of a paradise for urban festival, Liverpool Music Week has joined the likes of the International Festival of Psychedelia and Sound City in revealing a cluster of heavy-hitters for its 2014 edition.

We recently announced that Caribou would be unleashing his new magnum opus in October - well Mr Snaith will be dropping in to the city's industrial arts hub Camp and Furnace along with Kanye West collaborator Evian Christ and Warp Records troublemaker Patten to open the festival.

Dub pioneer Forest Swords will then curate a special All Tomorrow's Parties event, 'Release The Bats', to be headlined by Mogwai, with local legends Clinic providing a DJ set and bludgeoning rockers Mugstar supplying the pain.

Throw in Wild Beasts and The War On Drugs, and you have an intriguing first batch, with 'many, many more' to come, and over 50 events hosting more than 250 acts across the city's venues.
