London artist Wolfie has been steadily making a name for herself since dropping her 7DS EP four years ago. Having arrived with a distinct take on R&B right from the beginning, she continues taking her sound in new and inventive directions. After releasing a string of strong singles and the stunning 8 Ball EP last year, she's set to drop another new EP later this year called V. A few months after sharing lead single, 'Maintain', a gorgeous and introspective piano-led Benz collaboration, she's back with another track from the EP called 'Contradiction.'

Over a hypnotic instrumental where producer K1 weaves strands of Arabic pop into a pulsing R&B backing, Wolfie offers an unflinching account of a failed relationship that almost feels like reading a page straight from her journal. What really makes it all resonate so deeply is the fact she delivers one of her best vocal performances to date, singing with hints of vulnerability and disappointment but also with a sense resolve.

A gorgeous string section and intricate flourishes of acoustic guitar add hints of exotic beauty that help keep things lighthearted. And if either of these two songs are any indication, then V is bound to be Wolfie's most fully formed and strongest release to date.
