Hard Rock International, which has been sponsoring England's annual Hard Rock Calling festival for the past eight years, announced earlier today that it has dropped out of sponsoring the 2014 festival.

The organization released a statement on the move, saying, "the brand has been privileged and honoured to host [the event]," but it "remains committed to supporting music and musicians through a variety of programs."

Live Nation Entertainment, which runs under Live Nation and Ticketmaster, will formally charge the event for 2014. A spokesperson stated to NME that "After six years of rising ticket sales for ‘Hard Rock Calling’, Live Nation intends to build on this popular rock-festival event. Further details about venues and timings for 2014 events will be made in due course."

This years event took place in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, with Kasabian and Bruce Springsteen and The E-Street Band headlining both nights.
