Over the years, the Grammys has become synonymous with some questionable musical pairings. Back in 2012, the event paired Foo Fighters and Deadmau5 in something that we'll most certainly never see again, and the year before Arcade Fire were joined on stage by BMX icon Matt Hoffman. So when it was announced today that rock icons Metallica will be paired with Chinese classical pianist Lang Lang, it wasn't the weirdest thing.

Alongside Metallica, event organizers also announced that Katy Perry and Lorde will be joining the night's performers. Her 2013 hit 'Royals' was nominated both for Song and Record Of The Year.

You can view the full list of performers here, which will take place January 26th in Los Angeles on CBS.
