Lorde's new album Melodrama is still months away and yet it feels like the anticipation for it has reached a peak.

Lead single 'Green Light' has all but taken over the radio stations and now, the New Zealand-based pop star sat down for a rare interview with the new York Times to talk about what fans can expect.

Basically, the entire album takes place over the span of one night at a house party but it's more "impressionistic rather than schematic."

"With a party, there’s that moment where a great song comes on and you’re ecstatic, and then there’s that moment later on where you’re alone in the bathroom, looking in the mirror, you don’t think you look good, and you start feeling horrible," she said. Read the interview here.
