Another day, another release to add to the 'I need to hear this right now' pile; Lykke Li has announced she's planning to release a new album this May.

"I see my albums as a trilogy," she said during an interview with NME, "with Youth Novels as the first one and hopefully this one as the last in this chapter."

NME also states that a "recent romantic split" may be a strong influence on her most recent material. "As a woman you get judged for appearances or things like that I don’t really care about. If anything I want to be seen as a singer-songwriter rather than a pop artist. I really feel like I've found my voice."

Her last album, Wounded Rhymes, was released in 2011.
