On May 6th, for the first time in television history, an original recording of a Beatles track was licensed for use in a television show, which was AMC's 'Mad Men'.

The track was 'Tomorrow Never Knows' and according to The Wall Street Journal, cost Lionsgate, the studio in charge of the show's production, a quarter of a million dollars to use.

Reportedly, the surviving Beatles members (Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr), Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison signed off on the deal after hearing how the track would be used and how it would be built into the plot. [via Complex]
