From the first shooting star synth chords of 'The Beginning' it's difficult not to like it. And on top of this you have Maria Minerva's vocals – originally from Tallinn, Estonia, she sings English in clear, clean-cut tones, sometimes harmonised and blissfully reverbing against the shivering garage-flavoured beat, a stream of percussion from clicks to toms and shakers.

Holding up those future synths there are felled columns of bass gliding under everything, the two together feeling atonal and cybernetic, suiting Maria's icy voice in this forward-thinking, subverted electropop song. This comes from her upcoming album Histrionic, scheduled for release 29th April on Californian label Not Not Fun.
