Utterly lovable County Durham indie-punks Martha are blazing a trail towards their new album Love Keeps Kicking, which comes out April 5th. So far we've heard the title track and 'Into This', and this week they're keeping the fire well and truly burning with new nihilist anthem 'The Void'.

They tell us: it’s about the cosmic darkness that’s engulfing the planet and all life on it. Impending ecological catastrophe, nuclear Armageddon, ancient gods awakening, suicidal ideation… We’re staring into the Void…

Regardless of the bleakness of the inspiration, Martha have taken that fear and turned it into pure fuel for the fire that is 'The Void'. An utterly rampaging pop-rocker that sees them going hell-for-leather with their sonics, overlapping their vocals perfectly to up the tension and putting pedal to the metal straight for the horizon. As ever, they're not beating around the bush on the lyrical front, seeing blackness everywhere they look around them - and in the eyes of others - but they're not going down without a fight, and it makes for a hell of a listen.
