Massive Attack have launched a new iPhone app today. Fantom is "a sensory music player that has been developed by a team including Massive's Robert del Naja." It remixes and reforms songs using a number of different environmental variables that inclues location, time of day, heartbeat and movement. Newly created and recorded audio-visual clips can apparently be shared and saved via socials, SMS and peer-to-peer channels.

The app also contains four new Massive Attack tracks - 'Dead Editors,' 'Ritual Spirit,' 'Voodoo in My Blood,' and 'Take It There.' Although they can't fully be heard just yet, you can hear parts of the tracks by "remixing" them in real-time.

Today is a good day. Fantom is now available for free via the iTunes App Store.
