Reece needs a good samaritan. In the single ‘Man Down’, the Virginia-based artist mourns his childhood; the new video, directed by Emily Kretzer, is an elegant and simple illustration of it. The song lives in a smooth, electro pop landscape, which lifts the mood. The song appears on Reece’s debut I’m Not Sure Yet EP, which came out just recently. Check out the video below.

The most compelling aspect of this new clip is that it uses the exact same suspenseful structure as the song itself. We see Reece parked on a front stoop, singing to the dead grass. He talks about running away from his problems, which seems to conflict with the title line. Time passes at the house, and a kid enjoys his childhood—until he can’t. And Reece’s story weaves back to describe crashing and burning and falling. Man down. .
