As if the lineup for anticipated albums for 2013 wasn’t crowded enough, MGMT have also announced plans for a new album due out this June.

In the most recent issue of Rolling Stone, the freak pop experimentalists explained that their third LP would be heavily influenced by acts like Aphex Twin, taking another sharp turn from the band’s previous efforts.

Featuring original tracks and a special cover of Faine Jade's ‘Introspection', band member Ben Goldwasser explained that MGMT haven’t been making exactly listener-friendly music: “[We’re] not trying to make music that everyone understands the first time they hear it…There's no illusion on [Columbia Records'] part that that we're going to turn into a Top 40 band."
