Swans' Michael Gira has been accused of rape by former collaborator Larkin Grimm.

The singer-songwriter took the issue to Facebook, releasing a statement in which she says Gira sexually assaulted her during the recordings of her 2008 album Parplar (which was produced by Gira and released on his label), eventually dropping her from Young God Records when confronted about the whole thing.

Gira has since then reacted to the statement, saying the accusations are a "slanderous lie" and promising to defend his name: "I trust in the intelligence of those who have followed my work and respect me as a person, to know this is NOT the person I am."
