New York-based songwriter, instrumentalist and producer Miss Grit released her debut EP Talk Talk in January this year, but has taken no time in starting work on whatever is to follow. She went straight into the studio through the early months of 2019, and this week has shared the first fruits of her work in the new single 'Running Slow'.

Miss Grit's new track is a beautiful encapsulation of the madness of trying to think in a city as busy as New York. She tells us that she's walked a thousand blocks and had a thousand thoughts, and the echoing boom that anchors 'Running Slow' sounds like the madness of the outside world pounding on her temples, while her inner monologue aims to remain serene and focused. The effect of these combined elements is the titular idea of 'Running Slow', where everything is carrying on heedless around, while she resolves to remain composed and determined - and in the impressive chorus we grasp the power and weightlessness of this feeling.

'Running Slow' and Talk Talk are available to stream on all platforms now. You can follow Miss Grit on Facebook and Instagram. She's also got this Euro tour planned:
