SO, next Saturday brings us the 4th of July and the US Independence Day. Not a massive celebration in the the UK really, however it does seem like a decent excuse for a bit of a drink up and a BBQ in the sunshine...(ha!) Towards the end of the Low Anthem's (slightly dull) instore at Rough Trade on Thursday night they were singing a song about going to Ohio This game me an idea for a 4th of July BBQ playlist... The premise is fairly straightforward...to create a playlist of songs which includes, either in the title or in the lyrics, references to all 50 US states. I have no idea if this will be possible but I thought that you lovely readers of the405 might be able to help in pulling this list together with me. So obviously, for some states it will be easier to find tracks than others but hopefully you can all get your thinking hats on and help me. First task... name all 50 states......err ok, this is going to be a struggle...[off to Wikipedia - Copy/Paste] As if by magic, the names of each state are listed below with some suggestions of tracks...
