Since the release of her debut EP in 2015, we've been on the Miya Folick bandwagon, patiently waiting for her debut album. While that wait doesn't yet have a clear end date in sight, we have been treated to some smashing new singles; 'Deadbody' a couple of months ago, and this week she puts out her most immediate track to date in 'Stock Image'.

Folick explains the intentions of the track, saying ""'Stock Image' is the conversation you have with yourself when you're feeling lost and your colour has faded,” says Folick. “When you're too focused on inhabiting a certain image and then suddenly you realise your insides are empty, that you're just a frame. I wrote it from a place of feeling shallow and grey and wanting to feel Full! Deep! Vibrant! I hope it makes you feel lush and coloured in.”

The rising pop singer has superbly managed to capture both sides of her intentions; on the one side we feel the frustration of lacking inspiration and drive - but on the other she's put it into an invigorating pop song that is likely to re-energise you just when you think you're done for. In the chorus she sings of being locked inside your own thoughts, but the bright and bouncing interchange with the synth melodies ensures that you have all the power you need to free yourself.
