Soaring guitars underpin Isaac Brock's sermon ("Lord lay down, Lord lay down, Lord lay down your own damn soul"), before that tender piano line is offered up; a bizarre gospel. Perhaps Modest Mouse are a bunch televangelists now? That press shot above certainly hints at it.

The main thing to take away from Modest Mouse's new single, 'Of Course We Know', is a an acceptance that this band might be making a play for the big leagues: mid-to-high up on the festival circuit. That's no bad thing.

'Of Course We Know' is taken from the band's forthcoming album Strangers to Ourselves (out March 16th), and follows the recently shared 'Lampshades on Fire', 'The Best Room', 'The Ground Walks, With Time in a Box', and 'Coyotes'.
