The goddess of love has reached through Molina and delivered a sultry synth number fit for the set of Twin Peaks. ‘Venus’ is the first single from the Copenhagen artist in 2019, following a few singles from the past two years which are available on Spotify; her music has pop sensibilities with a darkwave aesthetic. She goes all-in on the new single, which was given a video treatment by Diana Guais.

Plucked strings twinkle like a mechanical planetarium across the landscape of ‘Venus’. Molina reaches deep with her vocals and proves to have a striking range—an apt match for melodies so unsettling, they could fit a Strangers Things pastiche. Videos of videos comprise the accompanying video clip, building a visual fuzz with a vague implication of voyeurism. Perhaps that’s all love really is: disquieting displays of obsession.
