Mr. Elevator, a new psych-rock project from Tomas Dolas of the Oh Sees, will release the album Goodbye, Blue Sky later this year. That announcement is accompanied by the release of a new single, 'Alone Together,' which showcases the group's throwback sound.

Featuring 60s-style organs, reverb-drenched vocals and a trippy "moving art mirage" accompaniment, 'Alone Together' is a fascinating fusion of old and new. Dolas is clearly pulling from a bygone era of psychedelic rock -- Oh Sees' founder John Dwyer specifically cites Tangerine Dream and 'Hurdy Gurdy Man'-era Donovan as important touchstones for Dolas' project -- but the resulting sound is imbued with a modern sensibility that keeps the song's thematic content feeling fresh.
