You'd forgive Nas for feeling nostalgic this past month or so considering all the noise surrounding Illmatic hitting 20, but it seems he's keen to look forward too.

Speaking with NPR, the rapper confirmed he's been working with Timbaland, Swizz Beatz and No I.D. on a new album. The process originally started a year and a half ago, but it hit a few stumbling blocks: "I stepped back from it... I felt like I needed to be inspired."

So, what made him pick it back up? Apparently One9 and Erik Parker's Time Is Illmatic documentary played its part: "Them showing me the footage and stuff really like—it really lets you know where you come from and everything, and where you at now. ... That's helped me find the inspiration."

No timeframe for the album quite yet, but we have our fingers crossed for a 2014 release.
