For a relatively unknown quantity, Nashville-based musician Ian Ferguson has come out of the gates swinging with his swaggering debut single, 'State of Gold.'

This slice of 70s psych-rock is packed to the brim with tasty guitar licks, slick melodies and impressive falsetto. Even more amazing is that the 25-year-old Ferguson engineered the track himself and played all the instruments.

For Ferguson, 'State of Gold' is a song about potential and embracing what lies ahead.

"'State of Gold’ is a song primarily about change," says Ferguson. "It is about going to a place you've never been before -- physically and mentally. It is the feeling of looking at your past life and waving goodbye, with endless possibilities on the horizon. I wrote this song as a bit of a new beginning in my life and my initial descent into the world of being a solo artist."
