Netflix's wildly popular docuseries, on the fates of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey, has been given a second season. The streaming service announced that directors and executive producers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos have been working on new episodes of Making A Murderer, which will introduce Steven's new lawyer Kathleen Zellner as she challenges his conviction.

"Because of Ricciardi's and Demos' incredible vision, commitment and keen eye, audiences around the globe became completely captivated by the personal stories of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey and the unique lens their experiences provide into the criminal justice system," Netflix Vice President of Original Documentary Programming, Lisa Nishimura said. "We're thrilled to be continuing our longstanding relationship with the filmmakers, and look forward to giving our global viewers eagerly anticipated updates on this story."

A premiere date for the new season hasn't yet been announced.
