Salutations by Conor Oberst

If you enjoyed last year's Ruminations, you'll probably get a kick out of this one. And we can say that with a huge amount of confidence because it's literally (the actual definition of the word, not the internet version) the same album. Only this time he roped in a band to flesh the songs out a bit. He threw in seven new songs to sweeten the deal too - which is nice of him - but this is your classic 'if you liked his last album, you'll probably enjoy this, and if you didn't, stay clear' setup.

In Mind by Real Estate

Real Estate are like most Tim Burton movies - you know that Johnny Depp is gonna show up at some point, and while that's not terribly exciting, you're comfortable knowing that the quality level isn't gonna dip below average.

Hot Thoughts by Spoon

The problem with naming your album Hot Thoughts is that you're setting yourself up for failure. It's like naming your kid Michael Jordan. I'm gonna assume he's good at basketball, and if he's not I'm gonna spend 3-5 hours dunking over his head. That's not to say that HotThoughts isn't a good album though, because it really is, I just want people to be safe. I care about people.
