With the recent release of the third Riddick movie, a third Riddick game is now in development by Starbreeze studios, responsible for the last two games in the series.

Speaking to Screencrush, Vin Diesel dropped the news of the games development:

"We just over the past couple of months -- just this year -- we assembled that team from Starbreeze that brought Escape from Butcher Bay to create the third game."

Escape from Butcher Bay was one of the rarest type of games you can find on this planet: a videogame adaptation of a movie that was actually good or better than the movie itself. Its sequel Assault on Dark Athena was somewhat less impressive as it felt like a retread over old ground, however both titles were pretty solid for movie-to-videogame adaptations. Here's hoping the 3rd will carry on the trend.
