While we understand the attraction in wanting to be Tom Hanks in Carly Rae Jepsen's video for 'I Really Like You,' fun/cool/hip/pop-culture savvy deputy prime minister Nick Clegg took things to the next level during last year's general election. For several days, the politician used nearly £8,000 of party funds to re-create the Canadian singer's Tom Hanks-starring music video in Gravesend, where he posed for selfies, danced and hit a ping-pong ball to show voters that he's down. Because who doesn't want a leader that loves CRJ?

The video - which obviously had the opportunity to break the internet - was later scrapped, as Clegg was quoted as saying "Why the fuck did I do that?" after filming the thing. But still, what the world needs now is for this video to surface.
