Nicki Minaj has been sued by super-mysterious electronic artist Clive Tanaka over her massive song ‘Starships’. He claims that the song ripped off his track ‘Neu Chicago’, and he posted a mashup of the two tracks last year (the mashup is posted below). RedOne, who produced the track, and co-writers Carl Falk, Wayne Hector, and Rami Yacoub are also named in the suit. Tanaka claims that Minaj has to have been aware of ‘Neu Chicago’ as it was used in multiple ads in Sweden and has over 100,000 plays on YouTube.

The Chicago Tribune interviewed Tanaka’s lawyer, who said that even he has no idea where Tanaka is at right now (“Argentina, from what I was told”). His real name and where he’s from are even hidden in the shadows, but the lawsuit lists his address as in Chicago and his record Jet Set Siemper No. 1 claims he’s from Japan, so who knows! Do you think he’s got a strong case on his hands?
