With her new single 'Hotel', Wellington, New Zealand singer and producer night pilot (government name: Hannah Brewer) veers away from the subtly, minimalism and restraint of her first single 'Drive'. Instead, she heads down a musical road defined by '60s psych-pop aesthetics, buoyant swinging hooks and detailed lyrical minutiae, in the process explore the feeling of reality not living up to expectations through a story of late-night hours spent lying awake in a hotel. "Hotel heartbreak / free soap and toothpaste / no more room in my suitcase / but too much time to waste." 'Hotel' brings us a step closer to night pilot's forthcoming debut EP.
