This year's Grammy Awards featured, amongst other things, that moment when Kanye West hurtled towards the stage but stopped short of total controversy when he backed off at the last moment when Beck actually seemed to be inviting him up. So drama.

So, what will next year's Grammy Awards bring? Nobody knows yet. But what we do know about is the nominees , the Schroedinger's cats of the musical world, caught in the torpidity of being neither winners nor losers. How traumatic for everyone involved.

Kendrick Lamar? He's up for eleven awards in nine categories. The Weeknd? Seven. Drake? Five. Alabama Shakes and Florence + The Machine? Four each. Kanye West, D'Angelo, Diplo? Three apiece. Chances of these guys winning at least one thing is pretty good: that's my prediction over. Some more nominees are below these words.

Record of the Year could be going to D'Angelo ('Really Love'), Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars ('Uptown Funk'), Ed Sheeran ('Thinking Out Loud'), Taylor Swift ('Blank Space') and The Weeknd ('Can't Feel My Face').

Up for Best Dance/Electronic Album are Jamie xx, Caribou, Chemical Brothers, Disclosure, and Skrillex & Diplo. On the other end of the spectrum, Best Alternative Album could be going to Alabama Shakes, Björk, My Morning Jacket, Tame Impala, or Wilco.

The 58th instalment will be taking place on 15th February 2016, broadcast live on CBS from L.A.'s Staples Center.
