NWA are amongst the inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2016. They are sort of the headliners of a set of five inductees for next year that also includes a set of 1970s rock bands, Chicago, Cheap Trick, Deep Purple and Steve Miller.

The "Induction process" is a combined effort between "an international voting body of more than 600 artists, historians and members of the music industry" and votes from "fans around the world."

Here are the 15 nominees ranked according to number of votes and percentage of votes as chosen by the public; as you can see, NWA actually appear quite far down the list with only 0.42% of the public's vote. Maybe it's something to do with Straight Outta Compton
