The Clouds and the Sea is a fitting name for the new EP from Nyles Lannon. Thanks to its layered production, ethereal atmosphere and ceaselessly beautiful compositions, one cannot help but feel transported to another world, as only the skies or oceans are typically capable.

Take a song like 'Hiding,' which has a new video courtesy of Jonathan Caouette. On the track, Lannon oscilates between a minimalist style featuring an isolated voice and a light guitar before giving way to layers of vocals atop one another and bold, expressive synthesizers. Few musicians can handle one style as deftly as Lannon handles a whole bunch on this record.

Working in a highly collaborative environment, Lannon credits his friends with the majestic sound of the record. "Music has been such an important part of my life these last few years, it’s my solace," he says. "I’m so grateful to have creative friends around me contributing to my vision."
