Kontor Records may have just quietly changed the way music is promoted.

The record label, based in Hamburg, Germany, discovered their promotional CDs sent to advertising agencies were being tossed in the garbage. Yeah, CDs, remember them? This month, Kontor rolled out their "Back To Vinyl" initiative, promoting their artist, Boris Dlougosch. Instead of compact discs, Kontor pressed the track to vinyl, packaging the record in an envelope that unfolds into a diagram of a record player. Dubbed 'The Office Turntable', the recipient uses their smartphone, laying it across the vinyl and opening a special mobile app that acts as a turntable stylus.

Check out the video. It's quite a remarkable thing to see.
