A bomb went off outside the entrance to a music festival in Ansbach, Germany, killing one and injuring twelve. The explosion was the result of a suicide attack, according to German authorities. The 27-year-old perpetrator had attempted to enter the festival but was denied due to his lack of ticket. It is also believed that he was a Syrian asylum seeker, who had also been denied there, as well.

Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann said in a statement that his backpack was full of screws and nails. The festival evacuated immediately following the explosion.
