In 1980, Paul McCartney famously lost control over copyright on Beatles songs after they were bought by Michael Jackson. But now it's been revealed that McCcartney will reacquire the copyrights in 2018 after suing Sony.

MJ acquired ATV Music Publishing in 1985 after it was recommended that he get into purchasing publishing rights. And in 1995, ATV merged with Sony. But after Michael's death, his estate sold his stake in the company last year.
