Matthew Houck aka Phosphorescent recently sprang back onto the scene with the punchy 'New Birth In New England' and the announcement of a new album called C'est La Vie, due out on October 5th. Today he gives us a second dose of the new record with a track called 'Christmas Down Under'.

Where 'New Birth In New England' showed the lesser-seen joyous side of Phosphorescent, 'Christmas Down Under' takes us back into the familiar comfort of the soul-searching and sombre style he is more known for. The pedal-steel wails, the percussion trudges, Houck wrestles with topics religion, labour, love and family (backed by a vocoded version of himself), which swells into a beautifully glitzy outro. Check it out below.
